Richmond Express can deliver any size and type of parcel, including

Rush delivery is also available.
We stay in constant contact with our drivers through state-of-the-art
Nextel two-way phones. Each delivery is tracked from pick up to
delivery. Clients can see the progress on-line from the pick up
time to the final delivery signature. We follow your delivery as
if it were our own.

Medical Courier Service
With MCV Hospital nearby, (the only Level-1 trauma center in the
area,) we specialize in professional, fast medical pick up and delivery.
We routinely provide emergency and STAT service for specimens and
equipment, and transport medical specimens, including temperature-controlled
specimens, anywhere in the U.S.

Standard Delivery - Pick up and delivery within 2 hours.
Any package picked up and delivered within metropolitan Richmond
will be delivered within 2 hours of call in time.
Any package going outside of metropolitan Richmond will be picked
up within 1 hour and delivered directly.
Rush Delivery- Pick up and delivery within 1 hour.
Any package picked up and delivered in metropolitan Richmond will
be delivered within 1 hour of call in time.
Scheduled Orders
Pick up and deliver at the same time each day or each scheduled
day.
Dock-High or Box Truck
Our truck work is scheduled as soon as a truck becomes available.
90% of truck work in metropolitan Richmond is completed within 1
hour.
Long Distance
Richmond Express delivers to every county in the state and every
state in the union. We charge by the mile one-way, and your parcel
is usually picked up within 1 hour and delivered directly.
Internet Ordering
Orders placed on-line may receive a discount. Call to inquire.
After Hours
Orders placed for service between 6:00pm and 8:00am.
Weekend Service
Orders placed for service after 6:00pm on Friday and before 8:00am
on Monday.
Holidays
We operate on all holidays, including Christmas, Thanksgiving, Fourth
of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day and New Years Day.
Inclement Weather
We have four-wheel drives to deliver in the deep snow. If your package
must get there, we are ready.

Fuel Surcharge
Unfortunately our dependence on fuel requires us to add a surcharge
when fuel prices rise unexpectedly. We base our surcharge on a formula
that is posted by the U.S. Dept of Energy. We always remove the
charge when prices fall back to normal levels.

We pick up and deliver within the Richmond metropolitan area and
throughout the United States. Our efficient fleet of bicycles, cars,
four-wheel drive vehicles, vans and trucks can handle any size delivery
any day of the year. We have numerous avenues available to us to
make sure your package gets delivered to its destination according
to your timeframe and budget.

Insurance
Richmond Express carries all the types of insurance listed, and
more.
Cargo
If you are licensed in Virginia you must have at least $50,000 of
cargo insurance. This protects the cargo from damage only.
Auto General Liability
If delivery driver hurts someone while on the job.
Worker's Compensation
Protects drivers while on the job.
Crime Insurance
1. Protects courier company from theft by its own workers.
2. Protects courier company for loss outside of the premises from
its own employees.
3.Third Party insurance protects customers from theft by the courier
company's employees.

What Makes us Better
Richmond Express is 100% employee-based.
Many courier companies use independent contractors, which frankly
is much cheaper. When you hire a company that uses independent contractors
you are actually hiring the contractors, not the company. If something
goes wrong with the delivery or if the contractor gets hurt on the
delivery, many companies will say that they have no liability since
they use independent contractors. Companies that use independent
contractors usually do not carry Worker's Compensation insurance
on their drivers. Independent contractors technically cannot be
forced to wear a uniform, an ID badge or be trained on the job,
as it is against IRS regulations. Independent contractors can set
their own hours, their own pace, their own route and quit work when
they please. Richmond Express employees are covered under Worker's
Compensation, are fully bonded and insured.

Employee Training
All Richmond Express drivers are employed by the company, and are
held to the highest standards of safety, courtesy and professionalism.
In addition to being bonded and insured we constantly retrain and
review our safety procedures so that we can deliver your package
safely and professionally. All of our employees are properly uniformed
with ID badges. We drug test our employees and are a Drug Free Workplace.
In addition, a criminal background check is a part of our standard
hiring process.
Being specialized in medical transport, all of our
employees have been trained according to OSHA standards to handle
any biohazard materials that may contain bloodbourne pathogens.
In addition, each driver carries a biohazard spill kit, and a cooler
for lab samples.
